In New Jersey, a delivery driver had a close call with a lightning strike amid a severe thunderstorm that swept through the tri-state area on Monday night.

The close call was all caught on a home’s surveillance footage while the man was dropping off food.

With the sky already obscured by dense black clouds, the delivery driver hopped out of his vehicle and quickly moved up the steps to the door, carrying a brown paper bag in one hand.

All at once, lightning struck in the yard. Hearing the thunderclap, the delivery driver yelled and ducked closer to the door, still firmly holding the delivery bag.

He looked backward at the rest of the front yard in pure shock.

“I thought that was going to hit me,” he said with a chuckle as he made the delivery.

Once the door was shut he darted back to his car, completely unscathed.

On Monday, New York and New Jersey were struck by disastrous flooding that left two people dead.

The Big Apple experienced its second-wettest hour ever recorded, spurring a freak flash flood that turned the FDR Drive into an extension of the East River.

One person even captured a bolt of lightning hitting the top of the One World Trade Center at the very start of the storm.

The volatile weather continued throughout the week as another lightning bolt killed an instructor and injured 13 boys during an archery club meeting in New Jersey on Wednesday.

One of the injured boys is “still in shock” after the strike literally knocked him out of his shoes and socks, which were decimated by the lightning.
