Video Captures Violent Road-Rage Attack on Los Angeles Street

A violent Los Angeles road-rage confrontation was captured on video, showing a woman allegedly attacking another driver with a crowbar before biting her during a brutal street fight.

Samantha Baez-Vargas, who lives in South Los Angeles, said the incident began around 4 a.m. Saturday after both drivers became stuck on a narrow one-way street and could not get past one another.

Baez-Vargas said the other motorist was driving in the wrong direction and that she asked her to reverse. Instead, the woman allegedly retrieved a crowbar and began attacking Baez-Vargas’ vehicle.

The video appears to show the suspect walking toward the car and striking its headlights, windshield and driver’s-side window with the weapon.

“Are you dead—? What’s wrong with you?” a person can be heard yelling in the background.

When Baez-Vargas stepped out of the vehicle, the suspect allegedly redirected the attack toward her, hitting her with the crowbar and repeatedly attempting to bite her.

“I didn’t know how to react. I was shocked. I didn’t know how to defend myself,” Baez-Vargas told Fox 11. “After the fact, I was in the hospital. I felt like I could have lost my life.”

She later showed the station bruises across her body, including injuries that appeared to be bite marks.

“I thought she would stop and she didn’t,” Baez-Vargas said. “She smacked me in the head with the crowbar at that point, and she snatched my phone out of my hand.”

The video was provided to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which said detectives have identified the alleged attacker and are trying to locate her.

“South Los Angeles Station detectives have been actively investigating this case and have positively identified the suspect. Detectives are currently working to locate and apprehend her,” the department said in a statement.

The California Post contacted the sheriff’s department seeking additional information about the suspect’s identity.

Baez-Vargas said the attack has left her deeply shaken. Her mother, Elizabeth Vargas, is now asking the public to help authorities find the suspect.

“Please do your job. This evil can’t be out there,” Elizabeth Vargas said.
