DESTIN, Fla. — A Florida dog is being hailed as a “good boy” after a video shows him aiding a deputy in finding an elderly woman who had fallen on the sidewalk.

Body cam footage from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy responding to a Destin home where a man was concerned for his wife after she had gone missing for some time while walking their son’s dog, Eeyore.

“She never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes; it’s almost an hour now,” the husband told the deputy.

The video shows the deputy driving to search for his wife before eventually coming across Eeyore.

“There’s the dog,” the deputy said. “Hi, baby! Where’s your mama?”

After asking Eeyore where his “mama” was, he directed the deputy to where the 86-year-old woman was lying on a sidewalk.

“He ran up to my car, and I said, ‘Bring me to your mommy,’ and he ran back here,” the deputy told the woman.

“He came up to your car?” she replied. “Oh, sweetheart.”

While speaking to dispatch, the deputy said the woman may have injured herself. An EMS was called to the scene.

“I’m not even his owner. I’m his grandmother,” the woman told the deputy.

“Oh, you’re such a good boy!” the deputy said to Eeyore as he panted.
