PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The search continues for the man accused of murdering his daughters in Washington state before going missing in late May.

Authorities say it is possible that Travis Decker, 32, has altered his appearance in order to go undetected by law enforcement. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office released an updated flyer, seen in the gallery below, with possible changes to his hair and clothing.

According to investigators, Decker is 5’8” and weighs 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan or green t-shirt and dark shorts.

Decker has been missing since May 30, when authorities say he took his three daughters during a parental visit and never returned them to their mother’s home in Wenatchee.

His daughters were found dead near a campsite with his truck on June 2, according to authorities. An autopsy revealed the girls died from suffocation.

Authorities said they collected “a large amount of evidence” from the truck at the scene, including human male blood along with non-human blood. Decker’s dog was also found and turned over to the humane society.

The search for Decker launched shortly after the girls’ bodies were found. Since then, Washington and federal officials say Decker may have been spotted by a hiking party near The Enchantments hiking area.

A helicopter crew then located an off-trail subject who ran from sight near Colchuck Lake on June 10. Deputies believe this person was likely Decker.

The hiking party that saw the man said he “appeared to be ill-prepared for trail and weather conditions, and appeared to be avoiding others.”

“At this time, we do not have any additional information that would suggest there is a threat to public safety, particularly within the back country and remote areas of our region,” Chelan County officials said in a statement. “To our knowledge, all trails and recreation sites managed by the US Forest Service remain open to the public. However, we still encourage everyone who is outside recreating to remain vigilant and report any suspicious information to law enforcement.”

A recent TikTok video portraying Chelan County officials falsely claimed that Decker had been taken into custody after a long standoff, according to the sheriff’s office.

“To be clear, Mr. Decker is not in custody and CCSO had no part in making the video,” officials said.
