One of seven Cornell students facing a renewed investigation into allegations of a gang rape has lost his job at a North Carolina bank, according to a report.
Diego Sarabia is no longer employed at Wells Fargo’s Charlotte branch, where he had worked since 2022, TMZ reported. The outlet said his termination came after Monday’s announcement that authorities had launched a new investigation.
Sarabia is among the individuals identified as the “Cornell 7” — alumni and fraternity members named in a civil lawsuit filed by an accuser identified as Jane Doe. She alleges that she was drugged and sexually assaulted at the Chi Phi fraternity house in October 2024.

According to the lawsuit, Doe had been drinking at a local bar while underage before going to the fraternity house. She claims she was then drugged with a prescription anesthetic and sexually assaulted for hours by multiple men.

The Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office initially declined to file charges after the incident was reported. On Monday, however, the district attorney said the investigation had been reopened and that the findings would be presented to a grand jury.
