For sports fans, this can be a dreaded week.
This week might not be marked on the calendar or eagerly anticipated, as it’s one of the quieter periods in the sports world — MLB All-Star week. However, if you’re searching for some action, there are a few events to catch this week that can satisfy your craving:
Monday kicks off with the Home Run Derby, featuring Jazz Chisholm Jr., who promises to be an exciting entrant in his debut. The Yankees’ second baseman mentioned that his goal is simply to “have fun.”
Also competing is the Braves’ Matt Olson, who steps in to replace Ronald Acuña Jr. due to back tightness. Olson has extra incentive as he is not only defending his home turf but also fulfilling a childhood dream as an Atlanta native and lifelong Braves fan. Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is another attraction, boasting 38 home runs this season and an impressive 87th percentile ranking in average exit velocity.
