Good news: Doctor Odyssey is almost back! Bad news: it’s still not this week.

For those wondering about the whereabouts of the show featuring Joshua Jackson, Philippa Soo, Sean Teale, and Don Johnson, which has not aired a new episode since November, the answer is nearer than expected!

It’s coming sooner than you may imagine!

More than two months after Episode 8 (“Quackers”) ended with a bombshell pregnancy reveal for Avery, Tristan, and Max, we are finally getting ready to board The Odyssey and catch back up with the medical crew. It’s been a while since we first fell in love with the gang and seemingly just as long since our last fix. And who could forget that “Quackers” left us wondering how Avery will decide to move forward with her pregnancy?

In November, Decider spoke with Soo and asked about what fans can expect from Avery in regard to the unexpected news stemming from her ménage à trois with Tristan and Max. While the actress played coy, she did tease an important conversation to be had with the storyline her character is facing.

“It’s been a couple of months since we’ve shot, we didn’t know where we would be at this moment just for our country post-election. But I’m really proud and honored to be an artist and to have the opportunity to bring truth and humanity — as much truth and humanity as possible — to this story of a woman’s conversation with herself about what choices she wants to make about her own body,” Soo told Decider.

It will be interesting to see how Episode 9 picks up with the trio still deciding their future. And we’re not far off, now! Here is everything we know about Doctor Odyssey Episode 9, “Shark Attack,” including when the episode will air and what it’s about.

What Do We Know About Doctor Odyssey Episode 9?

What don’t we know? Thanks to an episode description released by ABC ahead of Episode 9’s release, we know that the crew aboard The Odyssey are going to be in rough waters. It’s all hands on deck (get it?) as Avery, Tristan, and Max must jump into action when Spencer Monroe (Marcus Emanuel Mitchell) is bitten by a shark.

“Max and Avery are at a crossroads as Avery faces a difficult pregnancy decision,” a description reads. “Meanwhile, after Monroe is bitten by a shark, The Odyssey takes a dangerous detour to rescue a sinking boat, where a mysterious new passenger catches Max’s eye.”
