Coming to theaters this weekend is the latest romantic movie starring popular Gen-Z actors Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi. The film, titled On Swift Horses, promises to be a touching love story, although it may not unfold the way you anticipate.
Directed by Daniel Minahan, with a screenplay written by Bryce Kass, On Swift Horses is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Shannon Pufahl. This period romance takes place in the 1950s, in the aftermath of the Korean War, when a young vet named Julius (Jacob Elordi) returns home to stay with his brother, Lee (Will Poulter), and Lee’s wife Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones). When Julius falls in love with his coworker Henry (Diego Calva), Muriel is empowered to begin a secret romance of her own, with a neighbor, Sanda (Sasha Calle). Queer love for everyone!

Where to watch the Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi movie On Swift Horses:
On Swift Horses will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. nationwide on Friday, April 25. (In France the movie opens on April 30, and in Spain it opens on July 25.) You can find a showing near you via Fandango. On Swift Horses is not yet available to watch online or on streaming, but we do expect On Swift Horses on Netflix eventually.
Is the On Swift Horses movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?
On Swift Horses is not currently streaming on Netflix or Amazon, because the movie is being released in theaters, only. Right now, the only way to watch On Swift Horses is in a movie theater. That said, because On Swift Horses is a Sony movie, being release via Sony Classics, so we do expect to see it streaming on Netflix eventually.
You will be able to purchase On Swift Horses on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream On Swift Horses on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch On Swift Horses movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for On Swift Horses to stream on Netflix.
When will On Swift Horses be on Netflix?
On Swift Horses will likely be on Netflix sometime in before Fall 2025. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Another recent Sony Classic movie, The Room Next Door, came to Netflix about four months after opening in theaters.
If On Swift Horses follows this same release pattern, you can expect to stream the Jacob Elordi movie on Netflix around late August 2025, aka four months after the movie opened in theaters. In the meantime, you can go watch the movie in theaters.
