Jordan Stolz’s quest for an impressive collection of four gold medals at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics presses on this Saturday, with the spotlight turning to the 500-meter final.

WASHINGTON — American speed skating sensation Jordan Stolz is set to continue his ambitious pursuit of four gold medals, as he competes in the 500-meter final this Saturday. The 21-year-old athlete from Wisconsin has already made waves in Italy, capturing his first gold after shattering an Olympic record in the 1,000 meters on Wednesday. Even a judge’s decision allowing a rival a second attempt couldn’t slow Stolz’s relentless charge to victory.

This triumph marked a significant milestone for the United States, securing its first gold medal in the men’s 1,000 meters speed skating event since Shani Davis’s consecutive wins in 2006 and 2010.

Regarded as today’s leading sprint talent in speed skating, Stolz arrived in Milan with hopes of dominating in the 500, 1,000, 1,500 meters, and the mass start events, showcasing his exceptional prowess on the ice.

Stolz is the premier sprinter in the sport today and arrived in Milan with a legitimate shot at wins in the 500, 1,000, 1,500 and mass start.

No, he’s not quite in the territory of skating great Eric Heiden — who went a staggering 5-for-5 in Lake Placid 46 years ago — but he’s pretty close.

“One gold medal is huge enough, right? It would be super nice to have two, three, right?” Stolz said.

In addition to Stolz, U.S. speed skaters Cooper McLeod and Zach Stoppelmoor will race in the finals.

When will Jordan Stolz race in the speed skating 500 meters?

The men’s speed skating 500 meter race will be at 11 a.m. ET Saturday.

The race will air live on NBC and Peacock. It will reair on NBC at 4:30 p.m. ET. Saturday and on USA Network at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Viewers around the world can watch on official broadcasters, including NBC and streaming on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms.
