() The White House is holding a press briefing at noon Monday amid questions over whether the Trump administration violated a federal judge’s court order by deporting more than 200 people from the United States.

On Saturday night, District Judge James E. Boasberg ordered the administration not to deport anyone in its custody over the Alien Enemies Act. President Donald Trump previously issued a proclamation that the 1798 law is in effect. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Sunday that hundreds of members of the Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua were deported under the act.

Plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed to halt deportations asked Boasberg to force officials to explain whether they violated his court order. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement, “The administration did not ‘refuse to comply’ with a court order.”

At Monday’s press briefing, reporters are also expected to ask Leavitt about Trump’s upcoming conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump told reporters that he will be speaking with Putin on Tuesday, and that a “lot of work’s been done over the weekend” to end the war in Ukraine.
