It’s been just over a week since Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn, finally encountered Manousos Oviedo, portrayed by Carlos-Manuel Vesga, in Episode 6 of Pluribus. Fans can’t get enough and are eagerly anticipating what comes next.
Initially, Carol decided to pursue a relationship with Zosia, played by Karolina Wydra. However, after discovering that The Others were using her frozen eggs to procure stem cells for their transformation, she ends Episode 9 by returning home with a commitment to team up with Manousos to save the world.
Will Carol and Manousos manage to stop The Joining before The Others can customize the virus for her? Will she reunite with Zosia? And what lies ahead for other characters like Mr. Diabaté, played by Samba Schutte, and Laxmi, portrayed by Menik Gooneratne? These burning questions have fans clamoring for more episodes of Vince Gilligan’s highly regarded Apple TV sci-fi series. The main question remains: when will we see them?
Is there a new episode of Pluribus airing tonight, Thursday, January 1, or Friday, January 2? Is there an Episode 10? How many episodes are in the first season of Pluribus? And what about a Season 2? Here’s all the information we have on the future of Pluribus, including potential premiere dates for Season 2, a breakdown of Season 1’s conclusion, and more.
Is There A New Episode Of Pluribus This Week On Apple TV?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Fans hoping to catch a new episode of Pluribus on Thursday, January 1, or Friday, January 2, will be disappointed. Here’s why…
How Many Episode Are In Pluribus Season 1?
Like Severance Season 1 before it, Pluribus Season 1 consists of nine episodes. Not eight, not 10, nine!
Will There Be An Episode 10 Of Pluribus On Apple TV?
Nope! We know that nine-episode seasons aren’t ideal when 10 is right there, but that’s how long Pluribus Season 1 is! That said, don’t fret just yet…
Will There Be A Pluribus Season 2 On Apple TV?
You bet! In case you didn’t know, Pluribus Season 2 is already a go. In fact, the series was picked up for a second season before Season 1 even premiered. A smart move, considering the series is now the most-watch in Apple TV history!
Pluribus Season 2 Premiere Date: When Does Pluribus Return With New Episodes On Apple TV?
While an official Pluribus Season 2 premiere date has yet to be announced, fans can assume it will take quite a while for new episodes to premiere, consider Seehorn said the Season 2 writers’ room is still working away. Per Forbes, “it looks like it’s going to be 2-2.5 years until Season 2 airs,” which certainly isn’t ideal. But things can always changed, so stay tuned for post-mort updates from Gilligan and team.
What Will Pluribus Season 2 Be About?
The brilliant brain of Vince Gilligan is delightfully unpredictable, so naturally, we’ll have to wait and see what twists, turns, and surprises Pluribus Season 2 has in store. But based on the plot of the show and the events of Season 1’s finale, it’s clear that we’ll continue watching Carol — and her new neighbor, Manousos — work to save the world, and crucially, themselves from being turned. We know that Carol’s stem cells are being obtained from her frozen eggs against her will, and that she has one to three months until The Other figure out how to tailor the virus and change her. So the clock is ticking!
After chatting with Samba Schutte, who plays Mr. Diabaté, we also hope that Season 2 will take a deeper look at the 12 other immune people (now 11, without Kusimayu) besides Carol. Give us some backstories, Day 1 flashbacks, or present-day check-ins. (Laxmi, we miss you!) And although Zosia left Carol behind in the finale, we need to see more of her and The Others in Season 2. We want more of everything that made Season 1 great, and Gilligan more risks and jaw-droppingly clever twists in Season 2.
Will There Be A Pluribus Season 3 (And Beyond)?
While Apple TV hasn’t officially renewed Pluribus beyond Season 2 yet, we do know it became the streamer’s most-watched show ever, breaking records previously held by hits like Severance and Ted Lasso. So it’s safe to assume Apple TV will to stay in Pluribusiness for as long as possible
Gilligan recently said he saw Pluribus running for four seasons, telling Esquire, “If you ask me, right here, right now, in November of 2025… [four] seems like a good figure to me. It’d be good to get to around 40 episodes.” That said, he also told Variety he wants the show to run as long as Rhea Seehorn wants. So how long does Seehorn want to be in Pluribusiness? (I’m making this a thing now.) “I hope it’s like 10 seasons,” Seehorn told Variety.
When looking at Gilligan’s last two shows, Breaking Bad aired five seasons, while Better Call Saul ran for six seasons. So the creator/writer/director is no stranger to a lengthy story that continues to evolve beyond his original vision. Fingers crossed that Pluribus has a long streaming life ahead of it, and we’ll keep you posted on future updates.
