JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman has been arrested for murder in connection to an incident where a man was found dead with “multiple blunt-force injuries” at an apartment complex in Jacksonville Wednesday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced the arrest of 21-year-old Journee McGrew. She’s accused of killing 41-year-old Waduta Woodley.

On Wednesday at approximately 3:30 a.m., patrol officers were sent to Cross Creek Apartments, located at 1441 Manotak Ave., after receiving calls about a “dispute.”

When they arrived, JSO Sgt. Dishman told First Coast News Woodley was found dead in a breezeway/hallway.

Detectives from JSO’s crime scene and homicide units then responded to the scene, according to Dishman, and multiple people were detained.

McGrew now faces charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
