HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department said a woman was arrested Friday on a child abuse warrant.
HPD said on March 28, Jessica Patterson Traweek, 35, brought a child to the hospital for treatment. HPD was notified of this due to the child having injuries “that did not appear to be accidental.”
The department said DHR was notified and enacted a safety plan to ensure that no further harm would come to the child while a member of the police department’s Special Victims Unit investigated the case.
The investigation revealed that Traweek had abused the child several times in the past.
On April 25, the investigator in the case obtained a warrant for Traweek’s arrest, and that same day, she was arrested on said warrant.
She is currently in the Madison County Jail, being held without bond.
