The Florida Lottery says the woman chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump sum payment in the amount of $3,262,138.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville woman has become a multi-millionaire after winning $5 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket purchased at a gas station on the city’s Northside, the Florida Lottery announced Friday.

Lucinda Joseph-Rann, 54, won the $5 million from the lottery’s “$5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH” scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said in a press release. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,262,138 after claiming the top prize in the game at the lottery’s headquarters in Tallahassee, the lottery said.

According to the release, Joseph-Rann bought her ticket at the Gate gas station located at 60 Airport Center Dr. The gas station received a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The Florida Lottery said the scratch-off game Joseph-Rann won million in features four top prizes of $5 million. However, the game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.9.
