Glynn County Police said the 32-year-old man was arrested on four charges of aggravated assault.
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A Glynn County woman is in the hospital with gunshot wounds after police say a man shot her while she was with her two young children and another man Friday night.
Glynn County Police investigators said the man, 32-year-old Brandon Betts, is facing four counts of aggravated assault in the shooting.
Police said they arrived at the area of Mulligan’s Bar and the Royal Inn Hotel in Brunswick around 9:43 p.m. Friday, responding to a shooting call.
Officers found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services arrived and took her to the hospital. She was later airlifted to UF Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, where she’s currently stable. Police did not give her condition.
Investigators said initial information determined Betts fired multiple shots from a shotgun towards the woman, her two children – nine and seven years old – and another man.
Police found Betts later Friday night and arrested him without incident.
In addition to the four counts of aggravated assault, police said he was also charged with one count of posessin of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Additional charges might follow as the investigation continues, police said.
