The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the two women started arguing with each other after a fight between “juveniles.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was arrested Wednesday night after the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says she shot another woman during an argument on Jacksonville’s Eastside.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., patrol officers were sent to the 800 block of Franklin Street in reference to the shooting, according to JSO Sgt. Mitlyng.

When they arrived, Mitlyng told First Coast News officers found a woman, whose identity was not released, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

“She was transported to an area hospital in stable condition,” Mitlyng said. “Officers were able to quickly locate the shooter and take her into custody without incident.”

JSO said its initial investigation into the shooting revealed that there was a fight between “juveniles,” which led to the argument between the women. The argument then escalated into shots being fired.

Mitlyng said the incident appears to be isolated, and that all parties involved are speaking with detectives about what happened.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call JSO’s non-emergency number at 904-630-0500. To provide information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
