()The California mother who emotionally confronted California Gov. Gavin Newsom during the wildfires says she is still waiting on state and local leaders to step up and deliver more to those who lost everything.

Rachel Darvish, a mother and lawyer from Pacific Palisades, begged Newsom to provide her with insight into how he would deal with the devastation caused by wildfires.

Newsom told her he was trying to reach then-President Biden to discuss rebuilding.

Little has changed since then, she told .

“Who’s running this clown show, who’s running this clown show? I don’t know who’s running the clown show, and that’s what it feels like we’re in right now,” Darvish told .

“It just happened so that it was me that was the mouthpiece for so many people who are trying to get to the governor, probably that moment, that day, I’m proud that I was able to do it. But what goes on? What goes on from this moment forward, is we need the federal government’s assistance.”

Darvish penned an opinion editorial in ’s partner The Hill discussing her frustration with disappointment with leaders.

“Newsom told me he was ‘literally on the phone with the president,’ but I was able to see that he was literally not even on the phone at all. I have yet to hear from the governor himself, but I hope my daughter will know that her preschool her little world of safety was worth fighting for, that she and her friends deserved better and that her mother did everything in her power to demand accountability and transparency from those in power,” she wrote.

Nearly 50,000 acres have burned from Los Angeles to San Diego. Eight active wildfires are burning in the region, and a red flag warning remains in effect. Residents are also reeling from the deadly and destructive Palisades and Eaton fires.

Darvish had been living in a hotel room with her daughter after the fires ravaged Los Angeles County.  Despite her home still standing, she had said she like many of her neighbors had become homeless.
