Selfish female flier hit by instant karma after stealing window seat

A female flier stole another man’s window seat and forced him into the dreaded middle space…then found herself with the only broken seat back screen on the jet.

Chase Cangelosi, a realtor based in Austin, Texas, took to Instagram Threads on Monday detailing his stressful flight experience.

After traveling from Mexico City back home to Austin, Cangelosi, 28, hopped on a 50 minute connecting United Airlines flight in Houston at around 6.28pm.

While onboard he was confronted by a woman who insisted she take his window seat because it made her ‘more comfortable.’

‘I was boarding a plane and had an F (window) seat. I mention to the woman who was in my seat “heyyy I’m seat F,” and she says “I’m more comfortable here.” I said nothing else and sat in the middle,’ he wrote.

After letting her snag his assigned seat, Cangelosi was soon approached by the woman asking him to swap back after she noticed her seatback TV was not working.

‘A few minutes later, she discovered her seat TV didn’t work, while everyone else’s did. She asked to switch back and I said “no, I’m comfortable here”,’ he said.

‘Now I’m watching Bob’s Burgers and she just has to look out the nighttime window.’

He later clarified that he allowed the woman to take his assigned seat because he ‘didn’t care enough,’ adding that she was ‘talking on the phone facing the window’ during the flight.

Online users quickly flocked to Cangelosi’s post, with many applauding him for how he handled the ‘privileged’ woman.

‘She’s so daring to ask for a switch again. What a Karen,’ one wrote.

Another said: ‘Luv instant karma * Selfish bad mannered woman !! You were a complete gentleman * Please NEVER change!’

‘I just can’t with the audacity of some people. Lady, if F isn’t your seat, get the F out of it. No one cares where you are comfortable. The entitlement nauseates me,’ wrote someone else.

‘I hate privileged people on planes,’ a commenter said, as another wrote: ‘Good for you handled well.’

Another person even suggested that Cangelosi should have taken it a step further after telling her he was happy in the middle seat after all.

‘After telling her I was comfortable with the working TV seat I would have turned the TV off,’ they said.

Earlier this month, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant was seen restraining a crazed passenger who grabbed a woman’s hair onboard.

The bizarre incident happened on February 1 on Alaska Airlines Flight 2221 at California’s Oakland International Airport just before taking off for Portland, Oregon.

The erratic male passenger, with short gray hair and glasses, was seen being held back by an unnamed male flight attendant shortly after he latched on to the hair of a female passenger in front of him.

While the flight attendant punched the man several times, trying to get him to let go of the woman’s locks, other passengers tried to step in and help.

The unnamed woman with long black hair eventually stood up and walked away as the flight attendant kept his hand on the man’s shoulder while he shrieked loudly.

It is unclear exactly what sparked the male passenger’s abnormal behavior, but according to a man who said he was on the flight, ‘he was restrained for several minutes before being arrested’.

The aircraft returned to the gate following the incident and the flight itself was cancelled ‘after an attendant refused to fly and could not be replaced’, the passenger said.

Alaska Airlines told DailyMail.com that the male passenger ‘appeared to be experiencing a violent medical episode that involved an ongoing physical assault against other passengers and our crew.

‘Our flight attendants’ highest responsibility is the safety of guests and crew on board. Our crew responded to this chaotic situation quickly and kept all guests safe until law enforcement could intervene,’ the airline said, adding that the ‘guest in question has been banned from Alaska and Horizon due to the nature of the physical assault.’
