Yankees fans chant 'f--k Juan Soto' with anger growing for Mets slugger

Everything may be copacetic between Juan Soto and the Yankees, but fans seem to be another story.

The Mets’ $765 million man, who transferred to Queens this year following a single season in The Bronx, received a sneak peek at what might await him at Yankee Stadium on Thursday evening.

During the eighth inning of the Yankees’ 9-7 victory over the Diamondbacks, spectators were audible on the YES broadcast chanting, “F–k Juan Soto.”

It’s unclear what at that moment drew the ire of the crowd, or if the chant just grew from one vengeful fan.

The 26-year-old power hitter from the Dominican Republic is set to return to his former home turf when the Mets face off against the Yankees in a three-game Subway Series at the Bronx from May 16-18.

“Yankees fans, they can surprise you with anything, so I am expecting the worst,” Soto said after hearing it from Yankees fans when the teams squared off in the Grapefruit League finale on March 24.

“I think it was a lot of cheers out there, so I take all of that and I was happy for my fans that cheer for their players and I go from there,” he added.

Soto mashed a career-best 41 homers to go with 109 RBIs in 157 games with the Yankees last season, slashing .288/.419/.569 while leading the franchise to its first World Series appearance since 2009.

He didn’t stick around for a follow-up after one of the most high-profile free agency chases in baseball history ended up with him spurning the Yankees’ 16-year, $760 million offer for the Mets’ 15-year, $765 million version that’s laden with off-the-field perks, such as a family suite at Citi Field.

Soto enters his first game at Citi on Friday with a .238 average, one home run and a double among his five hits on the season, with the Mets at 3-3.

The Yankees, meanwhile, on the strength of their torpedo bat revolution, haven’t missed a beat without Soto, going 4-2 while scoring an AL-best 53 runs and MLB-leading 22 homers.
