The Yankees could be facing yet another injury concern.
George Lombard Jr. exited the second game of Saturday night’s doubleheader against the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium after appearing to suffer a right knee injury.
The issue surfaced during his first at-bat, when Lombard awkwardly checked his swing and immediately looked uncomfortable.

Manager Aaron Boone and a trainer came onto the field to evaluate him.

Lombard, one of the Yankees’ top shortstop prospects, remained in the game long enough to deliver a single to left field.
He batted in the third inning, and lined out to left, but was replaced in the top of the fourth.
Jose Caballero moved over to shortstop and Amed Rosario was inserted at third base.
If Lombard needs a stint on the injured list, the Yankees could bring back Anthony Volpe from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
