Zelensky's foul-mouthed meltdown over Tucker Carlson's claims on him

Volodymyr Zelensky unleashed a foul-mouthed verbal assault on Tucker Carlson who recently accused the Ukrainian President of ruling Ukraine as a dictator.

Zelensky did not hold back while furiously dismissing the political commentator’s claims, which included allegations of silencing Russian-speaking citizens and going so far as murdering political opponents.

Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Zelensky called Carlson a mouthpiece for Russian President Vladimir Putin, with his frustration boiling over as he delivered an impassioned response, telling the controversial broadcaster to ‘stop working for Putin, stop licking his a**.’

The clash was sparked following an interview in which Carlson, a longtime critic of America’s involvement in Ukraine, suggested that Zelensky had illegitimately maintained power and engaged in oppressive tactics.

He further insinuated that opponents of Zelensky had met sinister fates, but the Ukrainian president fiercely pushed back, categorically denying all allegations while launching into a blistering counterattack.

Zelensky lambasted Carlson for echoing Kremlin propaganda, highlighting the irony of being accused of dictatorship by someone who appeared to be endorsing the views of an actual autocrat.

‘Putin has a narrative on elections, on my legitimacy, on dictatorship. That’s from a person who is 30 years in power! The bloody dictator, murderer who violated territorial integrity of Ukraine!’ Zelensky thundered.

‘All that is Putin’s narrative. And regrettably, this blogger or journalist – whatever he wants to call himself – unfortunately fully repeats the words of Putin and what he wants. He works for Putin because he wants to lower me to the level of Putin.’

Carlson has frequently questioned Zelensky’s wartime governance, accusing him of clamping down on dissent and postponing elections indefinitely.

However, Zelensky insisted that while he is committed to democratic principles, holding elections in the midst of war is an impossible task.

‘I was elected by 73 percent of my population. And, you know, I always said that I am open to any elections,’ he stated, explaining how legal and logistical obstacles, including millions of displaced citizens and soldiers on the front lines, prevent the democratic process from proceeding at this time.

‘If we stop martial law now, that is what Putin wants. That will mean that our army, in the majority, will come back home, and… who will be protecting us?’

Perhaps the most explosive claim leveled by Carlson was the accusation that Zelensky had ordered the killings of political adversaries.

In response, Zelensky was quick to clarify the circumstances surrounding one particular figure – Viktor Medvedchuk, a pro-Kremlin politician and personal friend of Putin.

‘And about murdering political opponents. Whom have we killed? There was one person. His surname is Medvedchuk. That person is now in Moscow,’ Zelensky explained, revealing how Medvedchuk, once a leading force in a pro-Russian party, had been arrested and later exchanged for 200 Ukrainian prisoners of war.

‘Medvedchuk was the leader of the second-largest party after ours. This was the party that Putin controlled via Medvedchuk. Medvedchuk is the godfather of Putin’s kids. So they are like relatives. He was always against Ukraine, against our independence, against the EU, against NATO… When the war started, Putin was giving his ultimatums via this party to me,’ Zelensky said.

According to Zelensky, Medvedchuk had conspired to install a puppet regime in Ukraine that would serve Russian interests, but his plan failed.

‘They very much wanted that, but it didn’t happen that way. Ukraine preserved its independence,’ he asserted.

When it came to addressing Carlson directly, Zelensky did not mince words, accusing him of being woefully ignorant of the realities on the ground.

‘It seems to me that this journalist – I do not remember his surname, excuse me, Tucker. Yes, yes, Tucker is his name – he needs to more deeply understand what’s happening in Ukraine, to stop working for Putin, to stop licking his ass,’ he declared in one of the interview’s most incendiary moments.

Carlson, who has previously suggested that the US should cut financial support to Ukraine and prioritize domestic concerns, has drawn both praise and criticism for his stances on the war.

His claims about Zelensky’s leadership have resonated with certain factions in American politics that remain skeptical of continued aid to Kyiv.

The bombshell interview that ran for more than 90 minutes touched on a range of topics, including Zelensky’s message to former President Donald Trump, his views on Joe Rogan’s warning about the risks of provoking World War III, and the possibility of Ukraine reclaiming nuclear weapons.

In a stark warning, Zelensky suggested that if Ukraine is denied NATO membership, it may have to reconsider its nuclear disarmament – an agreement made under the Budapest Memorandum in 1994.

‘Ukraine may need its nuclear weapons back if they were not allowed to join NATO,’ he stated, a remark sure to raise eyebrows on the global stage.

He also addressed concerns about unaccounted-for foreign aid, dismissing allegations of corruption and mismanagement.

‘Missing billions? We have nothing to hide. Every dollar is accounted for,’ he assured, pushing back against claims that Ukraine’s government had mishandled funds.
