Buk M Buk Arrested On Murder Of Aaron Lowe  –  Salt Lake City police arrested a 22-year-old man on charges of murder for the Sept. 26 death of Utah cornerback Aaron Lowe, 21, the police department announced Sunday.

 

Buk M. Buk was booked into Salt Lake County jail and charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder and felony discharge of a firearm. Buk is accused of shooting and killing Lowe and wounding a 20-year-old woman in the early morning hours of Sept. 26 in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City. The woman is in critical condition after undergoing “extensive surgery,” police said.

 

Buk was arrested in Draper, Utah early Sunday.

 

Lowe, a sophomore cornerback from Mesquite, Texas, was the recipient of Utah’s Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship in August. The scholarship is awarded to a student-athlete who exemplifies the inspiring qualities that Jordan displayed through his work ethic, positivity and perseverance through adversity.

 

Jordan died on Dec. 25, 2020, at the age of 19 in Denton, Texas, in what police determined to be an accidental shooting. Lowe and Jordan attended West Mesquite High School together, and Lowe changed his jersey number to No. 22 this season to honor his close friend.

The 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Utah football player Aaron Lowe, Salt Lake City police announced Sunday.

Buk M. Buk has been charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder and felony discharge of a firearm.

Lowe, 21, was shot early on Sept. 26 at a house party in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. A 20-year-old woman also shot in the incident remains in critical condition after undergoing extensive surgery.

Police arrested Buk in Draper, Utah, early Sunday.

“In a time of need, we turned to our community,” Salt Lake City police chief Mike Brown said in a statement. “We asked people to come forward and to share the information they had. Because of those tips and the unrelenting pursuit of justice from our homicide detectives, we have arrested the person accused of murdering Aaron Lowe. So many lives have been impacted from this senseless shooting.”

Lowe was a sophomore cornerback from Mesquite, Texas. He was close with Utah running back Ty Jordan, who died in an accidental shooting in December, and in August became the first recipient of the Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship.

Buk M Buk has been charged for Aggravated Murder, Attempted Murder, and Felony Discharge of a Firearm.

The young man is about to face life imprisonment for his crime. If the second victim dies, it will be even harder for Buk to be released.

The report suggests that Buk M Buk has been taken to The Salt Lake City Jail. His trial will be announced very soon.

His family and friend are still searching for answers and struggling to process their grief.

In 2020, Lowe’s best friend Ty Jordan was also killed in an accidental shooting. Both attended West Mesquite High School together.

Before the season, Lowe had changed his jersey number to Jordan’s No. 22.
