Social media has been filled with tributes following the death of popular Bulgarians cyclist Iohan Gueorguiev also known by fans as Bike Wanderer. According to information circulating on social media, the world tour round cyclist was reported to have died last month (August 2021) at the age of 33. Multiple sources said the cyclist took his own life though we can’t confirm this at the moment.

Through uploading the video of his adventure, Iohan has recorded not less than over nine thousand Youtube subscribers on his channel and really helped a lot of people reach their lifetime goal.

The cyclist has cycled for 6 years from the Arctic Ocean in Canada to Patagonia in Chile with about 2500km in a straight line remaining to Ushuaia.

Reacting to Iohan’s death, Biker Jonathan Hayward took to his Facebook page to pen down his heartfelt tribute to the late star. He described Iohan as one of the greatest of the bikepacking world.

Upon returning home from an amazing weekend bikepacking with great friends I was saddened to hear that one of the greats of the bikepacking world has left us too soon.

Iohan Gueorguiev documented his world journey by bike on YouTube with some of the most amazing stories in awe-inspiring locations. I was lucky enough to meet Iohan at the Bikepacking Summit a couple of years ago. He was soft-spoken and eager to share stories of his adventures. I am grateful to be able to relive his journeys through his videos.

Disk Jockey, JaBig Chocophile also through his Facebook page while penning down his tribute said the biker help to ride to the arctic Ocen in 2017 through his Youtube videos and blog posts about adventures.

Thanks to Iohan Gueorguiev, I was able to ride to the Arctic Ocean in 2017 thanks to his YouTube videos and blog posts about his adventures on two wheels all over Canada and the world.
It’s thanks to him that I was convinced that a fixed-gear bike was not a bad choice for braving snow and mud as he advocated keeping things simple and just enjoy the ride.

This morning, I learned that he passed away last month as he was tired and could not take it longer. I did not know him personally except for a few email exchanges five years ago but I knew him because I followed his adventures as if I were riding with him.
