Erin molan sean ogilvy split – Erin Molan, a Channel 9 NRL presenter, has announced her divorce from her fiance, following months of speculation about their relationship.

Molan has been engaged to homicide detective Sean Ogilvy since 2017, and the couple welcomed their first child, Eliza, the following year.

The couple had been dogged by rumors of a break-up in recent months, but it wasn’t until Thursday afternoon that the news was confirmed by the 39-year-old herself in an emotional Instagram post.

“I have some personal news. “Sean and I have divorced,” the post says.

“We are entirely committed to co-parenting our three-year-old daughter, who is the most important person in the world to both of us.

“Any breakdown of a family unit is incredibly difficult and we ask for privacy at this time – especially given the private approach that we have taken to our relationship.

“We won’t be making any further comment, Thank you.”

The couple originally met during a night out at Coogee Pavilion, and revealed details of how the romance unfolded in an interview with 9 Honey in 2018.

“I like to say that Sean saw me and fell in love straight away and that was it. But I kind of saw him and kept making eyes like subtle eyes,” she told the outlet, adding she knew he was the one “straight away”.

“They say you kind of know when you know, and yeah, I think I knew straight away. He ticks every box.

“I’m very blessed; I’m very lucky. He’s a beautiful boy.”

The announcement comes during a difficult time for Molan, who has taken news outlet the Daily Mail to court over a story published on June 5, 2020.

It centred on Ms Molan saying “hooka looka mooka hooka fooka” on 2GB’s Continuous Call Team program after a co-host mentioned practising how to pronounce player names.

Molan alleges the publication defamed her as a “racist” and “arrogant white woman of privilege” who mocked Polynesian names.

In April, it was also revealed that Molan’s father, Liberal Senator Jim Molan, had been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of cancer.

Soon after the shock diagnosis, Molan shared a statement on social media on behalf of her family, including mother Anne, sisters Sarah and Felicity and brother Mick.

“We wish to express heartfelt thanks for the thousands of messages conveying good wishes, thoughts and prayers we have received in the past few days,” the post stated.

“Along with Jim, we have been particularly heartened and inspired by those who have shared their own person cancer experiences with us.

“We thank every single person who has reach out. We are overwhelmingly grateful for your kindness.”
