Scott Peterson In Jail? Yes, Scott Peterson was resentenced on Wednesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole, nearly 17 years after he was sentenced to death for the murder of his wife and unborn son.

Peterson was convicted in November 2004 for killing his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, who was to be named Connor, on Christmas Eve in 2002.

However, the state’s court determined in 2020 that prospective jurors were rejected after expressing general opposition to the death penalty on a questionnaire.

Prosecutors say Scott Peterson murdered his wife in their Modesto home and then threw her corpse in the San Francisco Bay from a purchased boat.

Where Is Scott Peterson Today?

A California judge sentenced Scott Peterson to death sentence without the possibility of parole for the killings of his unborn child and wife and on Wednesday.

In 2004, Peterson, 49, was guilty of killing his wife Laci and their unborn son Conner. Peterson was initially given a death sentence.

Judge Anne-Christine Massullo sentenced Scott to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder of Laci and a concurrent sentence of 15 years to life for the second-degree murder of Conner.

In court, Laci Peterson’s family members spoke with tears in their eyes.

“You didn’t want to be a father because you didn’t like the responsibilities. You’re a coward, “Sharon Rocha, Laci’s mother, stated.

She also explained Conner’s potential as a young boy. “By now, he would have been eighteen years old. You would have been free of all child support ten months ago and would not have had to take trouble about being responsible for a child, “Rocha remarked.

But she insisted on two things: “Laci and Conner will always be dead, and you will always be their murderer.”

Scott Peterson’s trial attorney told me he expects to get acquitted if there is a new trial with evidence proving a nearby burglary the day Laci disappeared.

Was Scott Peterson Arrested For Laci Peterson Murder?

As mentioned before, Scott Peterson murdered his wife Laci Peterson while she was pregnant.

Laci Peterson, who went missing on December 24, 2002, while seven months pregnant with Conner, was reported missing. Their bodies washed up on the beach in April 2003 and were discovered separately.

He was found guilty of their murders by a jury, and he was sentenced to death in 2005.

Scott Peterson In Jail

Scott Peterson had been in jail limbo since the California Supreme Court overturned his death sentence for murdering his wife and unborn child.

Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager indicated earlier this year that she would not seek to reintroduce the death penalty after visiting with the victims’ relatives, stating that the “process is simply too horrible to endure once more.”

Scott was ordered to be brought from San Quentin State Prison to the San Mateo County Jail for resentencing on November 23 by the court.
