In 1961, prosecutor Anthony made sure that Chester served his life in prison for the brutal murder of the three women. David growing up with his dad has somehow attached him to the case of Chester.

As mentioned by David, he was terrified of Chester during his childhood. As a kid, he always had thought of Weger coming after him, as his father was the prosecutor.
