Her close friend named, friend Lisa Frederickson, is the last person to see her alive. According to her, she was a happy young girl who wanted to go on an adventure.

The two friends went on a hitchhike their way from Mandurah, south of Perth, to Dongara in the State’s Wheatbelt, to work as roustabouts for a local shearing team without the knowledge of their parents.

 

 

They stayed at the local caravan park. However, before starting work, Dodd went on to visit her friends who were 200 km away on a farm near Moora.

Her friend told that she gave her a pocket knife as protection and gave her a hug and cuddle before she set off. The truck driver who has her the lift on the way to Moora described her as a very happy and bubbly girl, shared ABC news.

He dropped her off at a service station and she was seen walking along North West Road by other motorists. She is believed to have been seen around 11:45 am in the area.

Her family did not hear from her since then. In 2013, a breakthrough was found in the case and the murderer was found and convicted.

Hayley Dodd’s mother Margaret Dodd’s whereabouts are unknown but she has recently appeared in the media. In the ongoing investigation and search for the missing 4 years old child name Cleo Smith, Margaret has asked the family to stay strong.

She has told that the police has probably learned some lesson from the search of her missing daughter in 1999 and that they will use it in searching Cleo.

She told the 7NEWS that she could feel the pain that the mother of Cleo Smith and her stepfather is going through as the day keeps on passing b searching for her daughter.

Hayley Dodd’s day of death is not confirmed as her remains were never found. Police tried to find her body near the area where she was last seen but they did not find any clue that lead to her remains.

However, the murderer Francis Wark has been convicted for 18 years in jail for the teenager’s manslaughter.
