Where Is Her Mother Margaret Dodd Now? Hayley Dodd Wikipedia – When Hayley Dodd hitchhiked to see a friend, she had a map of Western Australia, $5 in cash, and a pocket knife for protection. It was July 29, 1999, and the 17-year-old was taking her first independent steps out into the world. She’d never be seen alive after that.

Hayley Dodd, a Perth teen who vanished while bumming a ride in provincial Western Australia 20 years ago, has been sentenced to death.

Francis Wark, 65, faced a six-week retrial in the Supreme Court of Western Australia for the wilful homicide of the 17-year-old, who vanished from Badgingarra’s North West Road on July 29, 1999.

After 22 years and two preliminaries, a part in one of Western Australia’s most perplexing secrets has come to an end, with Francis Wark being found not guilty of killing Hayley Dodd, but rather liable of murder.

It was the second time Wark had been put to the test – the first time he was under the watchful eye of a single appointed authority, and this time a jury was tasked with deciding his fate.

Following 12 hours of deliberation, the group came to a unanimous decision on Wednesday evening, deeming Wark not guilty of homicide but rather of the lesser charge of murder, implying that they didn’t believe he intended to kill Hayley.

Hayley Dodd’s mother Margaret Dodd has asked the family of Cleo Smith, a four years old kid who went missing, to stay strong. The police have been searching for her.

Hayley Dodd has not featured on Wikipedia yet. However, the public is aware of what happened to her.

Her close friend named, friend Lisa Frederickson, is the last person to see her alive. According to her, she was a happy young girl who wanted to go on an adventure.

The two friends went on a hitchhike their way from Mandurah, south of Perth, to Dongara in the State’s Wheatbelt, to work as roustabouts for a local shearing team without the knowledge of their parents.

They stayed at the local caravan park. However, before starting work, Dodd went on to visit her friends who were 200 km away on a farm near Moora.

Her friend told that she gave her a pocket knife as protection and gave her a hug and cuddle before she set off. The truck driver who has her the lift on the way to Moora described her as a very happy and bubbly girl, shared ABC news.

He dropped her off at a service station and she was seen walking along North West Road by other motorists. She is believed to have been seen around 11:45 am in the area.

Her family did not hear from her since then. In 2013, a breakthrough was found in the case and the murderer was found and convicted.

Where Is Hayley Dodd Mother Margaret Dodd Now?

Hayley Dodd’s mother Margaret Dodd’s whereabouts are unknown but she has recently appeared in the media. In the ongoing investigation and search for the missing 4 years old child name Cleo Smith, Margaret has asked the family to stay strong.

She has told that the police has probably learned some lesson from the search of her missing daughter in 1999 and that they will use it in searching Cleo.

She told the 7NEWS that she could feel the pain that the mother of Cleo Smith and her stepfather is going through as the day keeps on passing b searching for her daughter.

The Hayley Dodd disappearance and murder was horrific and tragic. But she was 18 – an adult. She was hitch hiking (as we all did back then). So it’s a bit sensationalistic to refer to her as a “little girl” & compare it to the Cleo situation.
