Harald Meier is recognized as Birgit Meier’s husband. He was supposed to clarify the reasons behind their divorce the same day she disappeared.
Speaking about his spouse, Birgit was a respected photographer. After their separation, she was supposed to receive 500,000 DM from Harald.

Reportedly, she disappeared from her small apartment on August 14, 1989. She was 40 years old at that time. If she was alive today, Birgit would have been 72 years of age.

Did Harald Kill Birgit? Everything To Know
Harald Meier didn’t kill Birgit Meier. Most probably, she became a victim of Kurt-Werner Wichmann, the German serial killer.
During one of the searches to find Birgit’s killer, Kurt-Werner was arrested in Heilbronn. Reportedly, he got involved in a traffic accident and the police captured him with several weapons.
On April 25, 1993, the serial killer committed suicide by hanging. Nevertheless, the investigation carried on and as per a recent update, Wichmann had a helper who might have killed Birgit. At the moment, nobody is in jail for the murder of Birgit.
Wikipedia claims that the crime was hidden for almost 28 years. Later, it was reopened by Meier’s brother, Wolfgang Sielaff who is a detective and policeman.
