After the arrival of police, Hovan told them they were arguing over a disagreement on what to watch on TV. He also said they were verbally fighting over who would put their daughter to bed. 

The police stated there were bruises and cuts on Keith’s forearm. During questioning, Keith said that it was an accidental cut while reaching out for the pen from his wife’s hand.

Though Keith repeatedly said there was no serious harm and it was just a stupid argument, the police were in doubt as his wife had dark bruises below her eyes.
