According to his online résumé, Mr. Binger is a seven-year veteran of the office of Michael Graveley, the county’s top prosecutor, and has also worked for the Milwaukee County prosecutor’s office and private legal firms.

He campaigned unsuccessfully for district attorney in nearby Racine County as a Democrat in 2016, telling The Journal Times that he had won 13 jury cases in the previous two years as a prosecutor. Murderers, rapists, child molesters, drug traffickers, drunk drivers, home-invading burglars, and those who mistreat women have all been convicted by him.

According to the New York Times, Hearings in the Rittenhouse case have been marred by sharp differences between Mr. Binger and Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder. Judge Schroeder refused prosecution arguments last week aimed at preventing the defense from portraying the individuals Mr. Rittenhouse shot as aggressive and destructive.

Mr. Binger is expected to be between the ages of 35 to 45 years old.
