Australian politician Alicia Payne is happily married to her husband, Ben Phillips, an economic and social researcher at the ANU (Australian National University).

The politician is also a researcher at NATSEM, a public servant, and a policy adviser as part of the Labor team. NATSEM, the National Centre for Social and Economic Modeling, was founded at the University of Canberra in 1993.

Professor Ann Harding established it, and the research center has contributed to independent analysis that has informed some of the nation’s most important policy debates since then.

Her husband, Ben, Professor Ann, and other dedicated and brilliant researchers serve at the national center NATSEM. It shows the power of numbers to shed light on policy impacts, and the analysis is publicly available.

Alicia Payne and her dear husband have two children from their marriage. The Australian politician gave birth to both her children in the Canberra Hospital.

The proud mother of two is enjoying the blissful bubble of motherhood with her son and daughter. Her elder son, Paul, is almost four years old as of 2022, while his exact birth detail is unknown.

Payne’s second child, her cute little daughter, Elena Patricia, was born on September 14, 2020, and is one year seven months old as of April 2022. She was also born at the Canberra Hospital.

Alicia often states that her elder son, Paul is a lovely big brother. He always looks at his little sister, talks to her, and tells her that he loves her so much.

Payne attended Kambah High School and later studied economics at the University of Sydney. Before entering politics, Alicia served at the National Centre For Social And Economic Modelling (NATSEM) and further at the Department of the Treasury.

Alicia joined the Labour party in 2006 and has worked as a political staffer for several Labor MP’s, serving as a senior advisor to Bill Shorten and Lindsay Tanner and later as chief of staff to Jenny Mackin.
