She perished in the attack that occurred on Monday night at the home that Anne-Marie Ready owned on Anoka Street. The Global Affairs division of the Canadian government employed Anne-Marie Ready.
Catherine Ready was able to survive the attack and was transferred to the trauma unit of the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital with a number of significant stab wounds as well as a gunshot wound. She was wounded when three officers from the Ottawa Police Department opened fire and killed her assailant.

Catherine Ready, the eldest daughter of the family, is 19 years old. She is the only member of her family to have survived both the stabbing and being hit by police bullets.
She had graduated from Franco-Cité last year, according to Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.
Graves’ relatives informed CBC that he had previously shown romantic interest in one of the daughters and that he had been advised to stop contacting her because of this attraction.
The victims have been identified as Anne-Marie Ready, who was 50 years old and worked as a trade commissioner for Global Affairs, and her daughter Jasmine Ready, who is 15 years old. According to her school board, she recently finished Grade 10 at the French Catholic high school Franco-Cité.
The victims were found dead in an apartment in the city of Ottawa, which is where the shooting occurred.

He was found to have a romantic interest in one of the victims, and he was just a few days ago charged with sexual assault against another woman. All of these revelations came to light after the man who committed the attack was identified.
Records from the courthouse indicate that on June 24 Joshua Graves was charged with three counts of criminal harassment, assault, and sexual assault for allegedly stalking another woman he went to school with between the months of March and June of this year. The stalking is said to have occurred between the months of March and June.
