Dr. Tahir Shamsi, a well-known hematologist from Pakistan, died on Tuesday. Here is the cause of death.

Dr. Tahir Shamsi was a well-known Pakistani hematologist. He breathed his last at Aga Khan University Hospital. His untimely death shocked and saddened the entire country.

During his lifetime, he was responsible for the most significant revolution in his home country’s hospital. He was the pioneer of bone marrow transplants in Pakistan.

In 2016, he received the Dom Graduates Association of North America’s lifetime achievement award in recognition of his service. In addition, he established the National Institute of Blood Diseases to treat blood-related diseases.

He spent his final days in the Aga Khan University Hospital’s intensive care unit. When he was admitted to the hospital, his condition was said to be critical.

After his condition deteriorated following surgery, the hospital was forced to place him on a ventilator. The hospital administration confirmed that the famous hematologist died in the hospital.

650 transplant operations had been performed by the doctor over the course of his long career. In addition, he has over 100 research articles to his credit. During the first wave of the coronavirus, he was the one who proposed using recovered patient plasma to treat COVID-19 patients.

Pakistan’s entire healthcare sector will remember him for his numerous services and as a pioneer of bone marrow transplantation. The entire country is in mourning following the news of his death.

According to initial reports, Dr. Tahir Shasmi died following brain hemorrhage surgery. After his health deteriorated, he was placed on a ventilator.

Dr. Tahir Shasmi’s official Wikipedia page does not yet have a page dedicated to him. The doctor, who died at the age of 54, was born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1967.
