Farooq Malik Karate, aka Farooq Ahmed Dar, was born on January 1, 1973, in the Guru Bazar region of Srinagar, Kashmir Valley, Jammu & Kashmir, India, into the Dar clan of Kashmiri Muslims.

While his pet name was “Bitta,” he was given the suffix “Karate” because of his expertise in martial arts.

Dar worked for his family’s business until his early twenties, when he left to become a terrorist. In the valley, he quickly became synonymous with terrorism.

Many individuals are unsure whether Farooq Ahmed Dar, commonly known as Bitta Karate, is alive or dead.

He is currently the chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front and a former terrorist, according to his Wikipedia article.

During the migration of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, Dar was accused of and acknowledged murdering several Kashmiri Pandits.

He then maintained that the confession was made under duress and that he had not slain any Pandits. He was imprisoned for terrorism-related offenses from 1990 until 2006 before being freed on bail.

He was detained for the second time in 2019 on charges of funding terrorism. Following his return from weaponry training in Pakistan-administered Kashmir in the 1990s, he spread fear throughout the valley.

He was imprisoned for murdering Kashmiri Pandits and ethnic cleansing. Satish Kumar Tickoo, a young businessman and personal friend of his, was his first victim. Dar shot Tickoo in the face in front of his residence.

He reportedly received instructions (for death) from Ashfaq Majeed Wani or other JKLF commanders.

Is Kashmir Files A Real Story? Everything We Know

The Kashmir Files is a movie based on video interviews with first-generation victims of the 1990 Pandit Genocide in Kashmir.

Despite a special release on March 4, 2022, the film’s distribution was prevented by a permanent prohibitory order following a ruling in favor of the widow of an Indian Armed Forces squadron commander.

On January 26, 2022, India’s Republic Day was the original plan for the release of the movie. However, owing to the spread of the Omicron strain, the film’s new release date was pushed back to March 11, 2022.

The film had a lot of positive feedback from viewers. The film has an IMDB rating of 8.3/10.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested him for the second time in 2019 on terror funding charges. The NIA has charged Dar, Sayeed Salahudeen, and others with “conspiring to wage war against the government” and fomenting unrest in Kashmir.

One of his co-accused is Hizbul Mujahideen leader Sayeed Salahudeen. Despite the fact that India, the European Union, and the United States have designated the Hizbul Mujahideen as a terrorist organization, it operates freely within Pakistan.

Sayeed Salahudeen is on India’s National Investigation Agency’s Most Wanted List, and the US Department of State has designated him as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
