How Did Oliver Chidawu Pass Away? The former mayor of Harare, who was also a close friend of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, was said to have passed away from a heart attack early on Tuesday morning.
At the age of 29, Senator Chidawu, a 1954-born man, was elected mayor of Harare City. He began serving in 1984. He was the youngest Mayor the city had ever had, and he had held the title for all of its history.
He is a successful businessman who founded the Kuchi Group of Companies, directed the African Banking Corporation of Zimbabwe and served as the non-executive chairman of the Manders Group.

The News Hawks announced Oliver Chidawu’s passing with a tweet, saying, “Harare Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister Oliver Chidawu has passed away.” In March 2019, the politician, engineer, and businessman was named metropolitan.

The minister has never discussed his family, and his relatives have decided to avoid the spotlight caused by the media. Even after he passed away, the official confirmation from his family members has not come in.
