As per BBC, Claudette spoke out and recalled the days of the 1950s civil rights mass movement to abolish racial segregation and discrimination. She said to BBC there was racial segregation everywhere schools, buses, churches, restaurants.

You won’t believe what Colvin said when she wanted to buy black patent shoes for Easter one year but could only find them in white stores. Her mother drew the outline of her feet on a brown paper bag to get the closest size because they weren’t allowed to try them on in the store.”

Fortunately, we were not born at that time, and we must admit that the country has changed dramatically.

When Did Claudette Colvin Have Her Son, Raymond?

Claudette Colvin gave birth to a son named Raymond in the same year 1955. She was 15. The baby was fair-skinned just like his dad and people accused her of having a white baby.

Nonetheless, Raymond died at the age of 37, reported Core Online. He was drug-addicted and alcoholic and passed away of a cardiac attack in Colvin’s apartment.
