Is Gunjan Saxena Alive? Gunjan Saxena is a 46-year-old Indian Air Force veteran and former helicopter pilot. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is a 2020 Bollywood film based on Saxena’s life.
The first female pilot to fly in a combat zone joined the IAF in 1996 and served in the Kargil War in 1999. During the war, her primary responsibilities were to evacuate the wounded from Kargil, transport supplies, and assist with monitoring.

Gautam, the gracious pilot, once rescued a serious kidney patient from the rooftop of a submerged house in Gujrat and safely handed over the officials.
Gunjan Saxena Family Explored
Gunjan was born to Ashok Kumar Saxena, her father, and Miss Saxena, her mother. Anshuman Saxena, the couple’s son, is the couple’s third child.
Her father was the most influential person in her life, encouraging her to follow her inner calling and assisting her in breaking stereotypes.
