Giada De Laurentiis was born in Rome, Lazio, Italy on August 22, 1970. She is an actor and producer, best known for Giada at Home 2.0 (2008), Giada Entertains (2016), and Handy Manny (2006). Todd Thompson was her former husband. They have a child and are divorced.

GDL, her private chef/catering firm, is situated in Los Angeles. Before hosting her own Food Network show, Giada worked with Wolfgang Puck and as a food magazine stylist for publications such as “Food & Wine.”
