Zilis and Musk only had a casual connection and conceived their twins together. Simultaneously, Musk and his ex-girlfriend, Grimes, started a new addition to their family by having a child carried to term by a surrogate.
Elon Musk and Shivon reportedly received twins the previous year, bringing his total number of children to at least nine.
No information has been released on the initial names of the twins. However, Elon and Shivon are rumored to have submitted court filings earlier this year requesting that their children’s names be changed to include Zilis as a middle and Musk as a last name. The court has already granted this request permission.
Musk discussed his views on fatherhood in a 2020 interview with the New York Times. He admitted that when his children were younger, he did not actively involve himself in their lives.

Zilis, now 36 years old and born in Canada, received her undergraduate education from Yale University. Zilis was born in Canada. Before commencing her employment at IBM, she received her undergraduate degree with a double major in economics and philosophy.
She worked with the Bloomberg Beta venture capital fund during the ensuing years.
