On September 21, 1954, Shinzo was born in Tokyo, Japan. His nationality is Japanese. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1977. Abe afterward moved to the US and spent three semesters at the University of Southern California studying public policy.

Abe was from a political family at birth. His lineage dates back to Yamaguchi Prefecture. Between 1958 and 1991, his father Shintaro Abe, held several positions in the House of Representatives, including Chief Cabinet Secretary, Minister of International Trade and Industry, and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Abe’s maternal grandpa is the politician and official Nobuyuki Kishi. During World War II, the politician served as vice minister of munitions. The politician’s grandpa was Kan Abe. During World War II, he used to make presentations in the House of Representatives.

Hironobu Abe, the older brother of Abe, was appointed president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Shji Packaging Corporation, while Nobuo Kishi, the younger brother of Abe, was appointed senior vice-minister for foreign affairs.

The former prime minister was married to Akie Abe, a socialite, and former radio DJ, in 1987. His wife was the child of the president of Morinaga, a chocolate manufacturer, which was one of the Japanese top confectionary companies.

In March 2011, she graduated with a master’s in social design studies from Rikkyo University. Abe was a radio host in her husband’s hometown of Shimonoseki in the late 1990s. She was well-liked in the media industry and went by the jockey alias “Akky.”

Meanwhile, the wedding date of Akkie and Shinzo is not publicly available. The couple hasn’t made their wedding date public on social media. However, they were married in the 80s. The pair could not have any children due to fertility complications during the early days of their marriage.
