The Kansas City Chiefs defensive end, George Matthew Karlaftis, is an American football player who plays in the National Football League (NFL).
Karlaftis was a true freshman for Purdue in 2019, starting all 12 games and recording 54 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Karlaftis declared for the 2022 NFL Draft after a season in which he tallied up 4.5 sacks.
He only played in three games as a sophomore in 2020 because of a positive COVID-19 result, finishing with four tackles and two sacks.

Matthew, who was supposed to give a speech, never showed up for the event and was discovered dead at his hotel at the age of 44 from a heart attack.
