Steve Bronski, a founding member of the seminal British synthpop band Bronski Beat, has died, according to the source. The BBC gave him the age of 61. There was no mention of a death cause.

Bronski, real name Steven Forrest, co-founded the band in 1983 with Larry Steinbachek and Somerville.

BRONSKI According to his former bandmate Jimmy Somerville, BRONSKI Old Beatle Steve Bronski died unexpectedly at the age of 61.
Smalltown Boy and Why? were hits for the musician’s 1980s synthpop ensemble.
He formed the band with Larry Steinbachek and Somerville in 1983.
Somerville, who joined The Communards after leaving the band, paid tribute to his former bandmate today.
“Steve Bronski’s death comes as a shock,” he said. He was a talented musician with an ear for melody.
Steve’s death follows that of Steinbachek, who died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 56.

According to Smash Hits, Bronski grew up in Castlemilk, Glasgow, in “Europe’s largest public housing scheme.”
He worked in Harrods as a stagehand, laborer, and stock controller, as well as playing bass in a country and western band, and he left home at “various times.”
