Vincent Pinkney, a Manhattan man, has 11 previous arrests dating back to 2012 for burglary, assaults, and other alleged crimes, according to police sources.
He will be monitored after his release until 2022.
In an unjust blade spree near the Manhattan grounds Thursday night, a gangster with a long criminal background fatally harmed a Columbia University understudy, damaged a vacationer, and undermined another man, according to authorities.
Authorities say the brutal 15-minute slashing spree began when Columbia graduate student Davide Giri, 30, slashed in Morningside Park’s stomach shortly before 11 p.m.
He was charged with a posse attack in 2015, according to State Department documents, and served three years of a four-year sentence.

Vincent Pinkney Arrested For Davide Giri Murder: Who Is He?
Authorities claimed on Friday that during a random late-night Manhattan crime spree, a jubilant gangbanger fatally stabbed a Columbia University teaching assistant.
Another man was stabbed, and a couple walking through Central Park was horrified.
According to police sources, the assailant was a member of the Queens-based EBK gang, which stands for “Everybody Killas.” He was captured in a Manhattan park following the latest incident.
Ex-con Vincent Pinkney was arrested after the second stabbing of a man walking down Columbus Ave. near W. 110th St. on Thursday night.
The guy, who is on parole for a gang assault conviction and has a long criminal record, roared in delight.
The second attack, which occurred shortly after the culprit fatally stabbed Davide Giri, 30, was described by a Columbia student as “he was thrilled.”
At 11:09 p.m., on the corner of W. 123rd St. and Amsterdam Ave. in Harlem, I was shot in the stomach.

Davide Giri Cold Murderer Exposed
Davide Giri, a cold-blooded killer, has been exposed. Ex-con Vincent Pinkney was arrested after the second stabbing of a man walking down Columbus Ave. near W. 110th St. on Thursday night.
Pinkey, who has a long criminal past and is on parole for a gang assault conviction, screamed out in delight.
The victim worked on his PhD in computer science at the college, according to his online bio.
After starting as a graduate research assistant in January 2016, Davide also worked as a teaching assistant and a project mentor.
Giri was assassinated while going home from a late-night soccer game for no apparent cause.
