Was Protester Carolyn Maloney Arrested: Why?

Carolyn Maloney was arrested by the police while protesting in front of the Supreme Court.

She was among the 17 democrats arrested in the protest; Rep. Nydia Velazquez and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were also arrested in the incident.

According to Daily News, the three politicians were among seventeen members of Congress detained by police in response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to reverse the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion.

Following her detention, Maloney stated, I have the pleasure of representing a state where reproductive rights are recognized and protected — the least I can do is throw my body on the line for the 33 million women whose rights are at stake.

Maloney was arrested previously for standing up for people’s rights. Her tweets reflecting on her recent arrest also said she would be arrested again but would not stand down.

The police might have released her, but the news has not been confirmed yet.
