On January 13, 2006, Edward Schiller was shot while sitting in his car in the parking lot of his Newton office on Boylston Street.
When he didn’t show up for work, his coworkers became concerned. They discovered Ed’s body around 9:30 a.m., after he was killed around 7:45 a.m.
Authorities later discovered a single gunshot wound on his body and pronounced him dead on the scene. None of the valuables were discovered to be missing from the scene.
Later in the investigation, they discovered that he had rekindled his romance with his former girlfriend, Stacey Rock. They later found Rock’s estranged husband guilty of hiring a hitman to assassinate Ed.

Jim Brescia got the second chance to live at freedom after he suffered a stroke in the middle of his murder trial seven years back.
He was first sentenced lifetime in prison without parole after being convicted of hiring a hitman to kill Edward Schiller. Later on, the state’s highest court ruled that stroke could have affected the credibility.
Brescia’s ex-wife Stacey Rock has rekindled her romance with Schiller. They were high-school sweethearts and started living together in 1992.

They eventually broke up and went their separate ways that are when she met Jim. Many people believe jealousy was the reason which turned into a vicious crime.
He has a stroke after his first day of testimony in June 2008. On the second day, the court noticed that he was confusing syntax, pronouns, etc.
It is unclear if Bresica had bail after his new trial.
