Who Are Wilbert Mora Parents? Family Details Revealed

Wilbert Mora’s death has devastated his parents. His mother, along with other family members, arrived at the hospital on Saturday afternoon. She stayed in the hospital with Mora the entire time.

Wilbert’s death was announced by New York Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell, who called him a “three-time hero.” He also expressed his condolences to the officer’s parents and family.

 

 

The NYPD officer underwent two surgeries but did not gain consciousness. He was put on life support as his liver, kidneys, heart, and pancreas, were recovered for transplant, reports CBS New York.

Mora was just 27 years old during the time of the incident. A motorcade is bringing his caster to Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens, where he will be buried. 

Wilbert joined the department in 2018 after graduating from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He has about 35 arrests on his record, and he aspired to become a sergeant someday.

According to CBS News, one of his family friends, Santo Guerrero told the media that Mora was like a son to him as he and Mora’s father were like brothers.

Hundreds of first responders, city leaders, and members of the public will pay their respits to the officer. He is being remembered as a hero in life and death. 

Wilbert’s friends held a candlelight vigil outside NYPD’s 32nd Precinct to honor him and the life he lived.Â
