Betty Ang is the CEO of one of the largest food brands in the world, Monde Nissan, and she is also known as the maker of Lucky Me. The Lucky Me brand is manufactured to help poor consumers, and they have made a significant contribution to making it the leading instant noodles brand in the Philippines.

In the following years, the company focused on growing its business and introduced the first dry noodle in pouches, Pancit Canton, and the first noodle bowl, Supreme La Paz Batchoy, to the market.

Talking about her education, Betty earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Assumption College. She had been interested in entrepreneurship since high school and chose her career as a businesswoman. She got hitched to Hoediono Kweefanus, vice-chairman of Monde Nissin. They are blessed with six children and live a luxurious lifestyle.

Pancit Canton Issue Discussed In Detail

The famous brand of noodles, Lucky Me Pancit Canon, is recalled because there are several complaints about using high levels of ethylene oxide. Pancit Canton is the most popular instant noodle brand, launched in 1989. This noodle comes in various flavors, such as Sweet & Spicy, Extra Hot Chili, and many more.

The founders of Lucky Me explained that it complies with local food safety standards. After receiving warnings from some countries, they focus more on hygiene and food sanitation.

However, the issue grabbed the public’s attention, and many citizens requested the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct the test and verify if the rumors were true.

According to the French National Agency for Health Safety of Food, Environment, and Work (Anses), even a small amount of ethylene oxide can be extremely hazardous to human health, and there is a high risk of cancer.

Lucky Me! Is Pancit Canton Harmful Or Safe?

The controversies surrounding Lucky Me! Pancit Canton brand has been circulating all over the web. The founder of Monde Nissan stated on its official Facebook page that no harmful chemicals are mixed into Lucky Me! Products, and that they are safe to consume.

They added that Lucky Me! Products are Philippine FDA-registered, comprise various vitamins and minerals, and are a good source of Vitamin K, A, C, Iron, and Zinc. As a result, it is considered a healthy product, and no artificial preservatives are used in any of these noodles. However, the authentic news is yet to come on whether it is safe or harmful, but it can be assumed that it is conservative to some extent.
