Nathan Favro, a 26-year-old Australian reality star, has been cast in Netflix’s divisive new show Byron Baes. On Friday, the actor spoke out about being slammed by fellow residents on Nova FM’s Smallzy’s Surgery.
Favro has previously worked as a model and Instagram influencer. However, he rose to prominence after appearing on Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette Australia.

He appears alongside Elias Chigros and Jade. Kevin Foster, Sarah St. James, Alex Reid, Jessica Johansen-Bell, Lauren Johansen-Bell, and a slew of others appear.
When it comes to backlash, there’s a sense of localism and a bit of a coterie,’ said his colleague, Elias Black.
Meanwhile, despite their initial skepticism, they both agreed that the locals were pleasant. ‘I don’t think the actual hostility was directed at any specific cast member,’ Favro added.
It appears that someone is coming to take advantage of Byron’s beauty, which I do not believe was the case. But we don’t hear a lot of yelling across the street.’
The boys’ comments come after the series was chastised for failing to consult with local Indigenous groups or the Byron Council prior to filming.
According to the Echo, the Byron Council ‘passed an urgency motion’ requiring producers to obtain permission before continuing filming.
As a result, the filming was eventually relocated to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Favro was fired from Season 4 of The Bachelorette Australia after discussing cheating rumors involving lead Ali Oetjen and ex Grant Kemp.
He was then cast on Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise Australia, where he left in a relationship with Tenille Favios. However, Tenille revealed in a post-finale Tell All episode that he “friend-zoned” her within a week of filming wrapping.
