The two met when Vimala was still in college and Sreenivasan was a teacher, he had not even started his journey of becoming a film star at the time.
Vimala was studying at Nirmalagiri College and Sreenivasan was a teacher at a tutorial college when they first met, they would often wait for the bus at the same time.
The actor would often try to make small talk with her at the bus stop but she would reply in monosyllables.
She explains that they liked each other from the beginning but it would take them another 10 years to get married.

Actor Sreenivasan was born to his parents Thalassheri Paadiyathu Unni and Lakshmi.
His father Unni was a school teacher while his mother Lakshmi was a homemaker.
The actor also has two brothers and one sister in the family according to his Wikipedia profile.
As Sreenivasan was a teacher before trying his hands at acting, his father did not approve of his career change and he had financial struggles during his early days.
He has two children with his wife, they have two sons Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan. Both the boys are actors in the South Indian film industry.

Actor Sreenivasan Bypass Surgery Update
Sreenivasan has undergone bypass surgery recently and is recovering well as of now.
According to The Indian Express, he was admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam after complaining of severe chest pain on March 30.
He underwent bypass surgery after suffering from chest pain due to Cardiac Ailment.
