Who Killed Journalist Kim Wall? Murder Mystery Explored In Undercurrent Documentary On Netflix

Kim Wall was a murder victim and a Swedish freelance journalist. She was brutally murdered in a submarine on August 10/11, 2017.

Wall died tragically after being struck by the submarine’s close lid. But the atrocities did not stop there because her body was dismembered after she died.

Her torso was discovered on the beach of Amager after her remains were dumped nearby. She also had 15 stab wounds, the majority of which were in her groin.

Who Killed Journalist Kim Wall?

Kim Wall was killed by a Danish entrepreneur and an amateur engineer, Peter Madsen.

Wall had gone to meet Peter with the intention of interviewing the well-known businessman. Things, however, did not go as planned.

Madsen was apprehended in Koge Bay on August 11 and charged with negligent manslaughter. He was convicted of sexual assault, murder, and desecration of a corpse.

Peter was sentenced to life in prison in 2018. In 2020, he escaped from jail by threatening an employee, but he was later apprehended at a local residence.

Madsen is currently imprisoned at Herstedvester Prison.

More About Kim Wall Parents And Family

Kim Wall’s family is still reeling from his untimely death.

She was stationed in Denmark at the time, so she was separated from her parents and siblings. She had made a name for herself as a freelance journalist by taking small steps at a time.

Wall was ready to settle down in Beijing, China, with her Danish boyfriend, Ole. She only had one more interview with Peter Madsen before embarking on her dream life.

Sadly, Kim died while performing her duties and doing what she loved the most.

How Did Kim Wall Disappear?

As per Wikipedia, Peter Madsen invited Kim Wall for an interview on his submarine UC3 Nautilus in 2017.

She boarded the submarine with the sole purpose of completing her assignment. Neither the submarine nor Kim, however, returned to the harbor.

A missing person report was filed in her name the same night. Her dismembered body parts were later discovered in the surrounding areas.

Finally, the torso of Kim was discovered on Amager beach. Police divers discovered her head, legs, clothes, and knife in Koge Bay on October 6.
